Prerequisites: None Introduces Time-Based Media/Videography using still and moving images. Lecture and studio study using broadcast video as a means of personal expression. Prerequisites: None Introduction to the book as a physical object. Course covers the field of artists' books as a form of artistic expression and inquiry as well as antiquarian books. Course introduces the mechanics of printing on cylinder and platen presses and several binding structures.

ART218 The Artist's Book 3 Credits

Prerequisite: ART 214 or instructor permission Provides the opportunity for students to create a limited-edition, letterpress-printed artist's book edition of 12-15 copies. Students will write original text, generate imagery using traditional and alternative printing techniques, hand set type, letterpress print on antique printing pressed, and hand-bind each copy of their artist's book.
