WNC Dual Enrollment

WNC's Dual Credit Programs provide high school students with the opportunity to accelerate their academic journey by taking college classes while still in high school, often satisfying the credit requirements for both high school graduation and college certificate/degree programs. Dual Credit is for all high school students with options from English, math and science to art, skilled trades and technology...and everything in between!

High achieving juniors and seniors can earn up to an associate degree before they graduate high school
  • 1 - 2 year program (15 credits per semester)
  • Prescribed courses towards associates degree or certificate 
  • High school cohort
  • Acceptance into program by WNC & high school
  • Support from WNC Outreach Advisor
  • Earn an associates degree while in high school
*Check with your high school to see if they offer this program
 
High School students can enroll in college classes of their choice independently from their high school
  • Take courses to fit into your schedule
  • Large selection of courses
  • Take as many/few courses as you want "a la carte"
    • HS/counselor approval is needed to enroll
  • Credits may be applied to a college degree or certificate
    • Check to make sure credits are transferable
  • Courses may count towards your high school graduation requirements
    • Check with your HS counselor prior to enrolling
High School students taking college credit courses for dual enrollment taught by their high school teachers at the high school
  • College courses taught by your high school teachers on the HS campus during your regular schedule
  • Supportive high school environment
  • Credits may be applied to a college degree or certificate
    • Check to see if credits transfer
  • Courses may count towards your high school graduation requirements

By completing a sequence of Career and Technical Education (CTE) classes taught at their high schools, students can receive a certificate of skill attainment in a variety of programs
