SNAP E&T

SNAP E&T stands for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Employment and Training. It helps people who receive SNAP benefits (food assistance) find work and improve their skills to become more self-sufficient. WNC will train SNAP recipients through short-term programs, qualifying them for in in-demand careers in the local area.

Benefits of SNAP E&T

  • Job Training: If you need new skills to get a job, the program can help you with training, including learning how to use a computer or doing other work employers need.
  • Education: You can take college courses or get your GED (a high school diploma equivalent) to improve your education and chances of getting a better job.
  • Work Experience: The program can connect you with opportunities for real job experience, such as internships, volunteer jobs, or other opportunities to practice what you've learned.
  • Support Services: The program may also help with transportation (to get to work or training), childcare, and clothes for interviews or work.
  • Better Jobs: By gaining skills, education, or work experience, you are more likely to earn more money and need less food assistance.
