Jump Start College

The Jump Start Program is a dual-enrollment opportunity for students in participating Nevada high schools. Students enroll in college courses through Western Nevada College while simultaneously earning high school credits. Jump Start participants are able to complete up to 60 college credits through WNC.

Many school districts pay all or a portion of the costs, making this a rewarding and affordable choice for students.

Sample Schedule - 1st year cohort

*A three-week accelerated course is offered to Jump Start students prior to the beginning of the regular college semester.

• Helps students transition to college curriculum
• Helps make essential connections with their cohort
• 3 general education credits
• Gives students ability to concentrate on 4 classes during the regular semester instead of 5 which lightens the course load. 

Every attempt is made by the college to offer accelerated courses prior to each semester.
