How to apply for Student Employment:
- Look through the job postings and contact the supervisor(s) listed via email, including your resume, and ask for an interview.
- If you are offered a position, the supervisor will contact the Student Employment Coordinator and Human Resources.
- The Student Employment Coordinator will confirm you are eligible for student employment. Once approved, Human Resources will send the Supervisor hiring you a link to apply for the position and that will be forwarded to you.
NOTE: Some positions require you to have work study funds. Work study funds are based on your eligibility determined by the FAFSA and are awarded as part of your Financial Aid package. If you are interested in work study, you can contact the Student Employment Coordinator at temple.campana@wnc.edu and she can review your eligibility and add you to the work study waiting list.

Student Employee Evaluation Information
The WNC Student Employee Evaluation process is optional. Supervisors who choose to participate can do evaluations on a semester or annual basis. This process is meant to help both supervisors and student employees grow and promote development using this format as a helpful tool. Below are two forms - one is the actual evaluation form and the other is a form to help students prepare for their evaluation discussions. All we ask is that as a supervisor, if you choose to evaluate your student staff, you evaluate each student worker on your team.

Changes Coming Soon
On-campus student job postings are moving. Soon, students will be able to browse and apply for student jobs from the College's careers website. This change will streamline the application experience for students! Currently students who are selected for on-campus jobs must apply twice, first to the supervisor, then through the College's applicant system, Workday. This change means student will only need to apply once! This change also introduces changes to give each posting a consistent format, information, job description, minimum requirements, etc. and steamlines maintenance of job postings for hiring supervisors and Human Resources. Campus departments are in the process of transitioning the job postings listed in the drop-down menus below. Individual job postings will be posted on the colleges career website between July 28-Sept 5th as departments complete transition processes. Description:
The Academic Coaches are an essential element in the Learning Resources and Support mission to empower individuals to be curious and become independent innovative learners through coaching WNC students and supporting LRS functions.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Provides academic coaching in either a group or individual setting. May also provide tutoring online. Assists in developing and presenting workshops. Assists in developing resources to support the mission of the LRS department. Attend training and other meetings as required. Adheres to all FERPA requirements. Follows the National Tutoring Association Code of ethics (http://www.ntatutor.com/code-of-ethics.html) Maintains statistical and other records as required. Provides tours of the library. Provides first-line research assistance. Assists patrons with basic computer skills. Greets patrons as they enter the library. Assists patrons with basic circulation functions. Issues library cards. Answers phones. Re-shelves library materials. Performs regular sweeps of the library to ensure clean and tidy work environment. (Study rooms, whiteboards, markers, supplies, furniture, library materials etc.) Takes requests for inter-library loans. Assists patrons make copies. Handles cash accurately. Performs occasional data entry tasks. Assists with department projects.
Qualifications:One semester of college education and a grade of B or better in the subject area at the level of tutoring. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse users, colleagues, and faculty. Effective literacy, communication and presentation skills. Customer service focus. Strong work ethic. Fluency in Spanish is a strength.

Description:
- The Associated Students of Western Nevada (ASWN) is Western Nevada Colleges student
government. ASWNs purpose is to represent all students currently enrolled at Western Nevada
College through communication directed toward a united effort to enhance student life. ASWN is
responsible for addressing student issues brought before the organization and:
A. Make recommendations concerning student welfare to those persons responsible for
administration and college policies.
B. Enact legislation concerning student activities. Such legislation shall be consistent with rules,
regulations and policies adopted by the Board of Regents and approved by the President of
Western Nevada College.
C. Provide leadership for all of the student body.
D. Assist in directing or coordinating ASWN events.
E. Assess student opinions and needs as deemed necessary and proper, and to encourage
student involvement.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be a student currently enrolled in at least 6 credits at Western Nevada College
- Must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
- Must be able to attend events and comply with all other requirements stated in the ASWN Constitution as well as the ASWN Policies and Procedures Manual
Preferred Qualifications:

Duties & Responsibilities:All Student Government members upon winning their seat in ASWN Student Government Elections will be expected, regardless of position, to:

- Summary for Audio-Visual Technology Assistant:
- The A-V Technology Assistant will be key in supporting Digital Campus & Technology role in providing instructional and audio-visual technology support in classrooms, learning spaces,
meeting spaces, and special events for the Western Nevada College Community.
Duties & Responsibilities may include:
- Answer all incoming phone calls and respond appropriately to all phone inquiries
- Complete administrative tasks and offering excellent customer service
- Assist with technology support for both in-person and remote video classes
- Assist with physical setup or installations of equipment on campus, including running a-v cables, taping cables to floor, positioning speakers, tri-pods, setting up mobile projection screens, etc.
- Assist with departments online work order requests, following procedures to communicate customer requests to technicians
- Assist with organizing and posting equipment and service request orders
- Perform general maintenance and cleaning of equipment
- Data collection and entry for inventory reports
- Pick up and deliver audio-visual equipment around campus
- Model appropriate behaviors that support the department culture and vision

- The Student Ambassador Program is a leadership opportunity for students who are dedicated to serving and representing Western Nevada College. Student Ambassadors provide campus tours, execute various services to the campus, and perform duties at various WNC campus and community events. Student Ambassadors serve in the Student Center and are many times a first point of contact to visitors, both by phone and in person.
