How to apply for Student Employment:

  1. Look through the job postings and contact the supervisor(s) listed via email, including your resume, and ask for an interview.
  2. If you are offered a position, the supervisor will contact the Student Employment Coordinator and Human Resources.
  3. The Student Employment Coordinator will confirm you are eligible for student employment. Once approved, Human Resources will send the Supervisor hiring you a link to apply for the position and that will be forwarded to you.

NOTE: Some positions require you to have work study funds. Work study funds are based on your eligibility determined by the FAFSA and are awarded as part of your Financial Aid package. Job Duties:

Program Coaches will serve first-generation Latino students who are enrolled in the program and are committed to take 15 college-level credits per semester.

All Cohort Coaches will be expected to responsibly perform the following duties:

  • Mentor, guide, and support first-generation Latinos during their first semester in college
  • Be responsible for enforcing program policies and procedures
  • Attend all college-wide Cohort Coach meetings and trainings
  • Attend and participate in the Team-bonding activities and Transition to College orientation
  • Stay in regular contact with the Latino Outreach Coordinator by phone andWNCemail

Follow-up with the students from the LLA:

  • Call/text students to make sure they are ready to start Fall classes

The Academic Coaches are an essential element in the Learning Resources and Support mission to empower individuals to be curious and become independent innovative learners through coaching WNC students and supporting LRS functions.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Provides academic coaching in either a group or individual setting. May also provide tutoring online. Assists in developing and presenting workshops. Assists in developing resources to support the mission of the LRS department. Attend training and other meetings as required. Adheres to all FERPA requirements. Follows the National Tutoring Association Code of ethics (http://www.ntatutor.com/code-of-ethics.html) Maintains statistical and other records as required. Provides tours of the library. Provides first-line research assistance. Assists patrons with basic computer skills. Greets patrons as they enter the library. Assists patrons with basic circulation functions. Issues library cards. Answers phones. Re-shelves library materials. Performs regular sweeps of the library to ensure clean and tidy work environment.
