Gainful Employment

Effective July 2, 2019: Western Nevada College has implemented the early rescission of the Gainful Employment reporting requirements. Additional information about the guidance to implement the rescission option can be found on the Information for Financial Aid Professionals website and in Gainful Employment Electronic Announcement #122 Early Implementation of the Rescission of the Gainful Employment Rule. The decision was made by campus officials from Financial Assistance, Information and Marketing, Institutional Research and the Presidents Office. The link to Gainful Employment disclosures is still available on all 2019-2020 promotional materials and the website will remain available for students to view.

Prior federal regulations required colleges and universities to report certain information about Title IV eligible education programs that lead to gainful employment in a recognized occupation (also known as GE programs). Certificate programs at public institutions are included in Gainful Employment programs. While all of the certificate programs at Western Nevada College are designed to lead either to employment or transfer, the U.S. Department of Education requires that we provide disclosure information on specific programs. We hope this information is helpful to you as you make your career and educational choices. Standard Occupational Codes (SOC) are listed for each certificate.
