Fallon Youths Explore Careers at WNC Fallon Campus

Jul 10, 2023

July has been a busy month on Western Nevada College’s Fallon campus.

Besides Senator Jacky Rosen’s visit, WNC Fallon participated in the annual Fourth of July Parade and hosted the WNC Career Days.

“We had over 50 kids show up for the two-day long Career Days event,” said WNC Fallon Administrative Assistant Desirae Blunt-Lamkey. “The kids participated in 40-minute sessions at each station where they were taught about different careers open to them in the Churchill County community.”

Blunt-Lamkey said WNC wishes to thank its amazing community partners for participation and assistance in making Career Days successful: Churchill County Sheriff's Office, Fallon Police Department, Churchill County Museum, Churchill County Library, Epworth United Methodist Church and The Fallon Post, as well as WNC Beck Library staff, WNC Fallon student workers, and WNC Instructors Jeanne Evatt and Jep Jeppesen.

“We had a lot of fun having so many kids on campus!” Blunt-Lamkey said.
