Students Encouraged to Participate in Upcoming Art Show

Apr 3, 2023

Western Nevada College students, it’s time to showcase your artwork.

The annual Student Art Show on the Carson City campus runs from April 24 through May 11. You don’t need to be enrolled in an art class, but to be eligible you must be a student from the current 2022-23 academic year.

To participate, students must submit their artwork from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, April 19-21, in the Bristlecone Art Gallery. Students can pick up entry forms at the Information Desk.

Accepted mediums are drawing, painting, printmaking, digital media, photography, graphic art, ceramics, sculpture, book art and mixed media. Students are limited to three entries.

Additional requirements for the show are: place entry forms in the front and back of each artwork, 2D works must be framed and ready to hang with wire attachments on the back and students are required to pick up their artwork by Thursday, May 11 or Friday, May 12.

Students even have the opportunity to list their artwork for sale during the exhibition. Students who don’t wish to sell their art, must indicate this on their submission form.

A closing reception for the artists is planned for 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 11 in the Bristlecone Gallery.
