WNC Students, Faculty and Staff to Participate in Nevada Day Parade

Oct 20, 2023

Students, faculty and staff will represent Western Nevada College in the Nevada Day Parade on Saturday, Oct. 28.

In celebration of the anniversary of Nevada’s statehood in 1864, WNC’s bustling contingent will walk the parade route from East William to Stewart Street starting at 10 a.m. A military flyover will precede the start of the parade. Fittingly, the theme for this year’s parade is “Home Means Nevada.”

The Mobile Manufacturing Lab, the extended education arm of WNC that provides convenient industrial technology training to students and businesses, will complement a group of more than 30 enthusiastic representatives of the college. They will hand out candy to onlookers along the parade route.

The day’s events will also include a balloon launch, pancake breakfast and breakfast buffet, rock drilling, Nevada Classic runs, family friendly activities, a beard contest and more!
