Bristlecone Gallery Presents the ‘Nevada Buckaroo’ with Dr. Michael Fischer on June 17

What distinguishes the Nevada cowboy tradition and how cowboys in the region became known as buckaroos will be topics of discussion during a "Nevada Buckaroo" presentation on June 17 at WNC.

Guest speaker Dr. Michael Fischer, a local historian and former director of Nevada’s Department of Cultural Affairs, will discuss the “Nevada Buckaroo,” June 17, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Western Nevada College’s Bristlecone Gallery.

Dr. Fischer’s free discussion will include what distinguishes the Nevada cowboy tradition and how cowboys in the region became known as buckaroos. This special presentation is part of the Selections from “The Last Cowboy” exhibit by photographer Adam Jahiel, now on display through Sept. 9 at WNC. Light refreshments will be served.

The works in this exhibition are on loan from the Armuth Hellwinkel Family Collection.

Visit the gallery at no charge from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. It is free and open to the public, located in the Bristlecone Building, 2201 West College Parkway, Carson City.
