Western Nevada College Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs Dr. Dana Ryan and Director of College and Career Readiness Angela Holt accepted the National Adult Education Family Literacy Week (AEFL) proclamation that Carson City Mayor Lori Bagwell presented to the Board of Supervisors on Thursday morning, Sept. 21, in the Bob Crowell Board Room at the Carson City Community Center.

Holt said the proclamation marks Sept. 18-22 as AEFL Week in Carson City and embodies the community's steadfast commitment to acknowledging and prioritizing the enduring values of lifelong learning, literacy and workforce readiness.

"This declaration celebrates education's profound impact on individuals' lives and our community’s prosperity. The privilege of accepting this proclamation is heightened by its power to illuminate the transformative influence of adult education and family literacy, providing a platform to shine a spotlight on adult learners and their educational odysseys," Holt said.
