Veterans Resource Center
Veterans Crisis Line: Dial 988 then press 1 or Text 838255
24/7, confidential crisis support for Veterans and their loved ones.
You don't have to be enrolled in VA benefits or health care to connect.
The Veterans Resource Center at WNC opened January 2013 as a place on campus for veteran and military-connected students. The Center's primary focus is to assist veteran or military-connected students through the transition from military service to the world of higher education. Family members of veterans or military-connected people are welcome too. The Center is staffed by veteran students who know what it means to navigate the transition and uphold the motto of Vets Helping Vets.
A pre-admission adviser walks the veteran through the often difficult process of creating an educational plan in order to maximize their VA education benefits. The Veteran Resource Coordinator is also the academic adviser for the student veterans on campus with the primary mission to ensure that our veteran and military-connected students are given all the tools they need to succeed.
It is a place where veterans can gather with those who have shared experiences in life and who understand. A vet walks through our doors a stranger once.
