^{This year’s Guiding Star Student Speaker sponsored by Carson Valley Health is Cheyenne Clayson, who brings a story of determination, perseverance and paying it forward.}

^{A 2026 nursing graduate from Western Nevada College, Clayson received support through WNC’s ROADS Program (Realizing Opportunities for the American Dream to Succeed) and WNC Foundation scholarships, including the William N. Pennington Foundation Nursing Scholarship. The assistance helped cover essential nursing supplies and transportation costs, easing financial pressures and allowing her to remain focused on achieving her educational goals.}

^{But Cheyenne’s impact extends far beyond her own success.}

^{Known for encouraging classmates and connecting fellow students with available opportunities and resources, she became a source of support and motivation for others navigating their own educational journeys.}

^{That same drive carried into her professional career. In January 2026, Clayson began a nursing apprenticeship at Renown Regional Medical Center on the Tele 8 unit. Since then, she successfully passed the NCLEX examination and officially launched her career as a registered nurse. Her story reflects the very purpose behind Reach for the Stars — creating opportunities that empower students to pursue their ambitions and strengthen their communities.}
