WNC, Carson High Grads Share MGC Contractors Business with Construction Class

May 12, 2023

It was a homecoming for two workforce presenters to Nigel Harrison’s Construction class in late April: Bryan Forster, a 2011 graduate of WNC’s Construction Management Bachelor’s degree program, and Carson High School graduate J.P. Bourgogne.

Both work for MGC Contractors, a water treatment industry leader headquartered in Phoenix, Ariz. They talked to nine students in Harrison’s Construction 281 class (Construction Planning, Scheduling and Control) about their careers, company projects, the benefits of working for MGC Contractors and the need for interns and full-time employees.

Their presentation was well-received by the students, who asked many questions and were fascinated by the technology in the industry.

On May 10, Harrison’s Construction 109 class was visited by Gilbane Building Company of Reno, attracting additional students from the college's other construction classes. Gilbane Building is one of the largest privately held family owned construction and real estate development firms in the industry.
