Koh Makes You Think Donuts Have Been Left in Bristlecone Gallery

Koh art exhibit

The next time that you walk into the Bristlecone Main Gallery at Western Nevada College, you may think that someone brought colorful donuts to share and that someone is watching you.

Upon closer examination, the well-decorated cushions and the dangling eyes actually are part of the Eunkang Koh’s “Desire” art exhibit presented by the Capital City Arts Initiative. It will be on display through Sept. 14 on WNC’s Carson City campus, 2201 W. College Parkway.

The University of Nevada, Reno associate professor in printmaking creates illusion in her artwork.

“My images are my way of seeing the world without pretense,” she said in a CCAI story about the exhibit. “In my artwork, I draw from the human circumstances that flourish between reality and perception.”

Sorry to say that the donuts aren’t real in her exhibit, but Koh makes you think they are.

Check out the exhibit Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the Bristlecone Main Gallery. A reception for Koh is planned Sept. 5 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Koh will be introduced to attendees at 5:30 p.m.
