Chamber Recognizes Niki Gladys Among Women of Distinction

Western Nevada College Executive Director of Advancement Niki Gladys was celebrated on International Women's Day on March 8 as the Carson City Chamber of Commerce honored her and nine other women for their achievements.
Also receiving the 2024 Women of Distinction Award were Kelly Brandon, Tasha Fuson, Jenny Lopiccolo, Sena Loyd, Marlene Maffei, Kitty McKay, Lisa Schuette, Elaine Spencer and Hope Sullivan.
The women were recognized during a luncheon at Gold Dust West in Carson City and the event was sponsored by Campagni Auto Group.
Gladys has made her mark at WNC since becoming the college's Foundation executive director in 2016. Through her leadership, the WNC Foundation Board benefits more than 500 students annually, awarding in excess of $825,000 in scholarships.
She also works closely with generous donors who fund campus enhancements.
Today, the foundation has more than $8 million in assets and her programs have earned national recognition.
Gladys has developed an innovative partnership with the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation to support local workforce development to empower WNC students toward meaningful employment opportunities.
