CDC Children Plant Pinwheels to Raise Awareness of Child Abuse

Apr 10, 2023

A return to cooler weather didn’t deter children from Western Nevada College’s Child Development Center from creating their annual Pinwheel Garden on Friday, April 7.

“We planted over 100 pinwheels in our garden! We wore blue to show support for all children and their right to a great childhood!” said CDC Director Anna Lisa Acosta-Rogers.

The Pinwheel Garden in front of the CDC helps raise awareness during Child Abuse Prevention Month.

Prevent Child Abuse America introduced the pinwheel as the national symbol for child abuse prevention through Pinwheels for Prevention® in 2008.
