Continue Academic Success Through Library Services

Mar 31, 2020

We know that you will have concerns about the remainder of the semester, so we thought we would share information about library services with you so that you might feel reassured that we are still here to support your academic success.
While the library is closed, we have a wide range of digital resources that you can access via the library webpage. These include our databases, streaming movies and ebooks (including some great documentaries in the Kanopy database). Our library guides on the webpage will help you make the most of those resources, if you are unfamiliar with them. Also, please ask for help if you need it. We are happy to work with you by phone or email.
We are sure that many of you will be working on research papers as we move toward the end of the semester. We will be providing virtual research assistance. Please contact us by email at ronald.belbin@wnc.eduandlarry.calkins@wnc.edu or phone 775-445-3229. We will be monitoring that number regularly and will get back to you as soon as we can.
Academic coaching has gone online and can be accessed at https://wnc.mywconline.com/ and all of the Canvas class shells. We will also provide clear instructions on how to use that service. You will then be guided to register for an account that will require you to give your NSHE number and some other information. You will then be able to make an appointment on the schedule with an online academic coach. Online Academic Coaching is available Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. If you have any questions, then please email Belbin at ronald.belbin@wnc.edu.
All late fees and fines will be waived during our closure. So, if you have borrowed any library resources, please hold onto them until we reopen.
