CDC Raises $5K for St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital with Trike-A-Thon

Children brought out their wheels to do their part to raise money for the St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital.

The children helped raise nearly $5,000 for other children and their families.

They turned out on their two-wheelers, three-wheelers and four-wheelers wearing really colorful and cool protective gear, including helmets and knee and elbow pads to avoid bumps, scrapes and bruises.
These young tikes took a break from their early childhood education because of the cause to help families with children their own ages in the fight against cancer.
Western Nevada Colleges Child Development Center raised nearly $5,000 for St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital in its Trike-A-Thon on March 25. CDC Director Anna Lisa Acosta-Rogers and her team set up a course for the trikes, bikes, big wheels and scooters in the parking lot in front of their building on the Carson City campus, providing the participants to complete as many laps as they could.
Because of fundraising efforts like this one, the St. Jude Childrens Hospital is able to cover the treatment, travel, housing and food costs for families with a child under their care.
The children learned to make a difference and left the course with the satisfaction of knowing that they helped make life better for someone else.
