Join WNC for an in-person Basic Electrical (ELM 110) course this summer. This low-cost, hands-on electrical training class is designed to support training for careers in advanced manufacturing and related technical fields.

Step-by-Step Application & Enrollment
Apply to WNC:
- Submit the WNC Admission Application online.
- You will receive your NSHE Student ID number within 3-5 business days, which is necessary for logging into the myWNC system.
Declare Your Goal:
- Ensure your educational objective in myWNC is updated.
Meet with an Advisor/Instructor:
- For technical programs like Electrical, it is highly recommended to speak with a counselor or the specific academic department to ensure you are selecting the correct courses.
Register for Classes:
- Log in to myWNC to check your enrollment appointment time.
- Use the class search to find the specific five-digit class number for Electrical courses.

Jump Start / Dual Enrollment
The Jump Start program is a dual-enrollment opportunity for students attending Nevada high schools. Students enroll in college courses through Western Nevada College while simultaneously earning high school credits. High school students can earn up to a transferable Associate of Arts college degree and their high school diploma at the same time.

Apply Military Experience to College Credit
Transfer up to 45 credits from a Joint Services Transcript and earn a degree.
Submit your official Joint Services or Air Force transcript to Western Nevada College for a transfer credit evaluation toward the Associate of General Studies. Up to 45 credits may qualify to transfer and provide the quickest path to the 60-credit AGS degree.
Advanced Manufacturing
The Manufacturing Technician program is the entry point for Advanced Manufacturing, Robotics and Mechatronics studies as it prepares students to earn the Manufacturing Technology Level 1 (MT1) credential. The MT1 documents that an individual is prepared for above entry-level industrial technology positions with fundamental knowledge and skills in general manufacturing concepts and technologies.
Industrial Electronics
Designed to provide fundamental knowledge of and experience with industrial electronic components and systems to learn job skills applicable in a variety of technical environments. Students will learn about and use equipment, tools and processes to prepare for International Society of Certified Electronics Technicians (ISCET) certification as a Certified Electronics Technician associate and be prepared to work as a technician in assembly or troubleshooting positions.
Mechatronics Technology
Mechatronics is the high-tech field combining electrical, mechanical, fluid power and control systems in industrial environments. These programs ensure hands-on experience and operational knowledge as aligned with the rigorous Siemens Mechatronics industry certification exam objectives in addition to expanded technical studies.
