Western Nevada College’s Bristlecone Gallery is Requesting Proposals for Art Exhibitions from Organizations, Artists and Groups

Proposals will be reviewed and selected by a newly developed Art on Campus Council

(Carson City, NV) Western Nevada College is seeking exhibition proposals from artists, arts organizations and curators for its Carson City campus galleries. The college's three exhibition spaces — the Bristlecone Gallery, Atrium Gallery and College Gallery — showcase a wide range of contemporary and traditional artwork and serve as cultural and educational resources for students and the community.

Artists interested in presenting a cohesive exhibition can submit proposals through the online application available at wnc.edu/artgallery. The website includes detailed submission guidelines to help applicants develop and organize their proposals.

Proposals will be reviewed by the newly formed Art on Campus Council. The council is also accepting self-nominations from individuals interested in serving as volunteer proposal reviewers. Information about council responsibilities and the nomination process is available at wnc.edu/artgallery.

WNC welcomes proposals in a variety of media, including painting, photography, printmaking, mixed media, sculpture and ceramics. Successful exhibitions will support the galleries' mission to enrich the educational environment through innovative exhibitions and programming while promoting creativity, equity, inclusion and lifelong learning.

Proposals will be evaluated on concept and artistic merit, artist experience and potential, representation of underserved voices or subject matter, opportunities for community engagement, feasibility and professionalism, and alignment with the mission of the college and galleries.

As a teaching institution, WNC encourages applications from emerging artists and first-time exhibitors. Artists and groups with limited exhibition experience may schedule a consultation with gallery staff for assistance in preparing a competitive proposal.
