Statement: A student (or former student) who has an unpaid balance at the end of the semester's sixth week has a delinquent account and will automatically be placed on financial hold by WNC and be sent to collections. This account may then be turned over to a collection agency at a date to be determined by the Controller. Effected accounts will be notified prior to collections placement.

Section 1: Procedure


  1. A collection fee based on the delinquent balance will be charged against the total amount owed.
  2. Students on financial hold may not receive a transcript, register for classes or be awarded a certificate or a diploma until the delinquent account has been cleared and the financial hold removed.
  3. Delinquent accounts may be sent to collection after 90 days.
  4. The student will also be responsible for collection and legal fees.
