Statement: | A student (or former student) who has an unpaid balance has a delinquent account. |
Section 1: Procedure
- Students with a delinquent account will be placed on hold and may not receive a transcript, register for classes or be awarded a certificate or a diploma at any NSHE institution until the delinquent account has been cleared and the financial hold removed.
- Students with a delinquent account may have their enrollment canceled and may be dropped from their classes due to non-payment.
- Students with a delinquent account may be assessed a monthly late fee of 10% or $10, whichever is greater, up to $250 per month.
- After 120 days of carrying a delinquent account over $200, the student may be sent to a collection agency. Student will be notified prior to being sent to collections. Student is responsible for any collection or legal fees.
