Statement: The purpose of this policy is to ensure each Academic Calendar is proposed and reviewed by all appropriate parties before being approved and distributed.

Section 1: Academic Calendar proposal

  1. Each year, the Academic Calendar shall be proposed by the Academic Faculty Senate four years in advance. (For example, the academic calendar for 2019-2020 is proposed during the 2015-2016 academic year.)
  2. Once proposed, the Academic Calendar shall be reviewed by the Director of Admissions and Records and the Vice President of Academic & Student Affairs, who shall approve or recommend changes to the Academic Calendar.
  3. Following approval by both the Director of Admissions and Records and the Vice President of Academic & Student Affairs, the Academic Calendar shall be approved by the Academic Faculty Senate no later than their April meeting during the academic year in which the calendar is proposed.
  4. Once approved, the Academic Faculty Senate Chair shall send the Academic Calendar to the President for final approval. After receiving final approval, Senate Chair shall send the Academic Calendar to the Information & Marketing Department for distribution.
