WNC offered a one-day class for fire agency personnel about Entry Level Driver regulations required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.

Firefighters from a variety of agencies were on the Carson City campus April 12 to complete Entry Level Driver Training for truck drivers, newly required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration for CDL licensing as of February 2022.
The class included personnel from Carson City, North Lyon County, Truckee Meadows, Storey County, Incline Village and Central Lyon County fire departments.
Western Nevada College Commercial Drivers License Instructor Sam Yesuratnam was honored to have the opportunity to proctor the class for the first responders.
For me, it was an incredible honor and privilege just to be in the same room with all of these guys, Yesuratnam said. And that I might have anything at all to offer to them of value was incredibly motivating and inspiring.
